The information cycle throughout this era was not dramatic, which led to quarterly drops throughout the three networks. WNT continued its second-quarter win streak in whole viewers, extending it to seven years. Within the demo, ABC Information’ program widened the separation between Nightly Information, extending it to 87,000 demo viewers throughout the just-concluded quarter.
In keeping with Nielsen Media Analysis, World Information Tonight completed the second quarter with 8.2 million whole viewers and 1.01 million viewers within the A25-54 demo. When put in opposition to the primary quarter of 2026, WNT was down by -6% in whole viewers and -8% within the demo. In contrast with the year-ago quarter (Q2 2025)*, ABC Information’ broadcast rankings grew by +13% in whole viewers and +3% within the demo.
NBC Nightly Information averaged 6.347 million whole viewers and 923,000 A25-54 viewers throughout the just-concluded quarter. The newscast was down -9% in whole viewers and -12% within the demo in comparison with the prior quarter. Checking its efficiency relative to the year-ago quarter, it was up +10% in whole viewers and +12% within the A25-54 demo.
Lastly, CBS Night Information completed under the 4 million mark, averaging 3.9 million whole viewers and 535,000 A25-54 viewers in Q2 2026. It was down by -9% in whole viewers and -1% within the demo vs. the prior quarter. In comparison with the second quarter of 2025, it grew by +2% in whole viewers and +3% amongst A25-54 viewers.
