With the presidential election two weeks away, the massive three cable information networks centered on politics and have been rewarded with excessive viewership. CNN, Fox Information and MSNBC have been all up in each measured classes throughout each dayparts.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper-moderated city corridor with Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris gave the community a lift as it was the most-watched program on Wednesday night amongst all of the cable networks with 3.334 million complete viewers. The community noticed double digit will increase throughout the board in comparison with the earlier week.

NETWORKS:

Nielsen dwell plus same-day knowledge for the week of October 21 noticed FNC common 2.769 million complete viewers and 366,000 A25-54 viewers throughout primetime. The community was up by +6% and +11% in these respective classes relative to the week prior.

In complete day viewing, Fox Information averaged 1.669 million complete viewers and 211,000 A25-54 viewers for week-to-week positive aspects of +2% within the former class and +1% within the latter.

Amongst all fundamental cable networks, Fox Information reclaimed its No. 1 spot in complete primetime viewers, and jumped to 3rd place within the primetime demo. It led in complete viewers throughout complete day and positioned second within the complete day demo.

MSNBC’s primetime lineup averaged 1.296 million complete viewers and 154,000 viewers within the A25-54 demo for respective week-to-week positive aspects of +1% and +15% in comparison with the week prior. 

Throughout complete day, MSNBC averaged 896,000 complete viewers and 98,000 A25-54 viewers, which interprets to a +2% acquire within the former class and +9% acquire within the latter.

Amongst all fundamental cable networks, MSNBC went from fifth to 3rd place in complete primetime viewers, and climbed one spot to seventh within the demo. Throughout complete day, it was the No. 2 community in complete viewers and slid from fifth to sixth within the demo. 

Throughout primetime, CNN averaged 956,000 complete viewers and 198,000 A25-54 viewers within the demo. That interprets to double digit positive aspects +54% within the former class and +69% within the latter. Throughout complete day, the community noticed 541,000 complete viewers and 107,000 viewers within the demo for positive aspects of +12% and +24%, respectively.

CNN rose to fourth place with complete viewers in primetime and jumped from No. 11 to No. 5 within the primetime demo. In complete day, the community completed fourth with each complete viewers and the demo. 

When these networks’ efficiency during the same period a year ago (the week of Oct. 23):

  • Throughout primetime, Fox Information was up by +34% in complete viewers and +53% within the A25-54 demo. Throughout complete day, the community noticed positive aspects of +18% in complete viewers and +21% within the demo.
  • MSNBC’s primetime lineup was up +4% in complete viewers and +25% within the demo. Throughout complete day, the community was down -1% in complete viewers and -3% within the demo.
  • In primetime, CNN rose by +25% in complete viewers and +5% within the demo. Throughout complete day, CNN declined -12% in complete viewers and -19% within the demo.
