COPENHAGEN, Denmark — The Danish parliament on Tuesday urged lawmakers and workers with the 179-member meeting towards having TikTok on work telephones as a cybersecurity measure, saying “there’s a threat of espionage.”

The favored video-sharing app, which is Chinese language-owned, faces intensifying scrutiny from Europe and the U.S. over safety and information privateness amid worries that TikTok might be used to advertise pro-Beijing views or sweep up customers’ data.
