Forget Spider-Man, MARVEL the Quadruped Robot Dog Can Climb Walls, Thanks to Magnetized Feet

MARVEL Quadruped Robot Dog Climb Walls
Forget Spider-Man, MARVEL the quadruped robot dog can also climb walls, thanks to magnetized feet. Developed by researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, this robot is an expert at scaling walls and ceilings of metal buildings and structures with flat surfaces. It’s capable of walking straight up a side like and even across the ceiling if necessary.

Technically speaking, the robot utilizes both magnetic elastomers and electro magnets on its feet to enable on demand magnetizing as well as demagnetizing. Come across obstacles? Those aren’t an issue either, as it can simply move around them by taking smaller steps. MARVEL even managed to climb up a rusty storage tank in one of the later tests.
