With seating for eight or space for living the e-van life.
This week Ford Pro unveiled the new E-Tourneo Custom, an MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) that’s essentially a luxurious electric van. The vehicle has flexible seating for up to eight people, solid performance, and luxurious technology inside and out. It is perfect for businesses or those looking to live the van life.
While the company already has an E-Transit and E-Transit custom, those are fleet vehicles and not something you’d want to use for personal use. However, the new all-electric E-Tourneo Custom is a high-end consumer van with all the bells and whistles, and it’ll make its debut in early 2024.
Ford confirmed that the new van is available in all-electric, PHEV, or diesel. All models get an independent rear suspension, optional AWD, can tow up to 2,500kg, and are built for businesses looking to get more done, family trips, or adventure-seekers.
The new electric van packs the same large 74 kWh battery cell technology as the F-150 Lightning electric truck and should get an estimated 230 miles (370 kilometers) of range. It supports 125 kW DC fast charging, not to mention 2.3 kW Pro Power Onboard. This means outdoor enthusiasts can tap into onboard power for anything and everything.
Additionally, the new Ford electric van features flexible track-mounted rear seating that can face one another or be in a regular position, and being able to slide the seats out of the way for more storage space is pretty nifty. As you can see in the image above, it’ll comfortably fit a kayak.
Here’s what Ford Pro Europe’s GM Hans Shep had to say:
“Whether it’s an active family trip at the weekend or shuttling execs to the airport in style, comfort and refinement, E-Tourneo Custom’s all-electric powertrain, advanced connectivity, cutting-edge design and new luxury features make it a compelling choice.”
Owners will also enjoy a premium interior, power side doors, a tilting steering wheel, B&O audio, panoramic sunroof options, a roof rack, digital key card access, and a large infotainment display.
The Ford E-Tourneo comes fully loaded with Ford Pro software, charging solutions, business management tools, and much more. However, this is only the first announcement, and we’ll learn more throughout 2023 ahead of its arrival in early 2024.
