Inventor Creates MacBook Mini, Unofficially the World’s Smallest MacBook Pro – TechEBlog

MacBook Mini Smallest MacBook Pro
Inventor Michael Pick wanted something smaller than the MacBook Air, and that’s why he decided to build the MacBook Mini. Touted as the “world’s smallest MacBook Pro”, it’s not an OS X laptop in the traditional sense, but rather a palm-sized device powered by a Raspberry Pi 4 running iRaspbian OS. Fabricating the shell required using an old filament printer, while the light-up Apple logo was made with an SLA printer. Read more for a video and additional information.

The miniature display you see wasn’t exactly plug-and-play since there were a few tall components that needed to be trimmed down, including the tab. Keeping the HDMI input port, buttons, speakers, and power connector would make the MacBook Mini a bit too bulky, so they were all removed. The Raspberry Pi 4 had to be slightly modified by removing the top USB ports to fit properly into the new case. A MagSafe power cable was then installed to give it a more authentic feel.
