I graduated with my degree in digital marketing several years ago, but with the ever-changing technology and evolving digital strategies, I always find something new to get excited about. Right now, these are 3 digital marketing trends that I am excited about!
1. Telling stories across social media
With more platforms available than ever before, brands are utilizing tools like Instagram reels, stories, and shortened-video content to tell their individual stories. Whatever your brand values, it’s easy to turn content into exciting, engaging, and consumable snippets. These allow your company to really shine. Being able to bring these stories to life is a key part of connecting with your target audience. Personally, I’m a huge fan of these short-video content pieces right now, whether it’s Instagram reels, Youtube shorts, or Facebook clips.
2. The rise of the live stream
Live streaming has been around for a long time, but in the recent years, it’s grown immensely. Live streaming is proving itself as a valuable tool, not only for consumers to better understand your brand, but to form a deeper connection with your audience. According to LiveStream (in partnership with New York Magazine) 80% of respondents said that they’ll watch a live stream from a brand rather than read a blog from the same company. And 82% would watch a live stream rather than go through a brand’s social media posts.
3. Give your audience what they want with Omnichannel
More channels, less problems? This enables your consumers to view content and information based upon their personal channel preferences. This is also a great way to keep them engaged. By segmenting by channel, you can better target specific audiences with the content they prefer. By offering many channels, it maintains brand consistency, while also providing options to let the consumer engage how they want and when they want.
