Meta Platforms has filed numerous patents, but one of the most interesting is of a product called “Meta Band”. Featuring a standard square-style display, similar to the Apple Watch, housed in a rectangular case, which extends to the side, where a blue strap is attached. Rather than typical watch bands, it uses elastic cords to make wearing the smartwatch more comfortable when outdoors, the gym, or warm / humid environments. The watch itself boasts a minimalist design with ultra slim bezels, while its camera appears as a small notch, meaning that capturing photographs and videos on-the-go will be easier than ever, especially if you forgot your smartphone. It’s rumored that this camera will be used for video calls over Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but if this were to become a reality, it’s most likely going to be unveiled at a press event later this year.
