Nothing ear (1) buds now support Siri and Alexa

Nothing has announced that its ear (1) wireless earbuds now support Voice Assistance with both Siri and Alexa.

The company announced Tuesday that its Nothing ear (1) buds now feature voice assistant for both Apple’s Siri, Alexa, and Google. The new feature is available via the company’s latest firmware update for its buds, which you can download through Nothing’s app on your iPhone.

Version 0.6700.1.86 not only enables voice assistant, but also a stronger connection between ear (1) and third-party apps and laptops, optimized stability when switching between multiple devices, more accurate battery display in-app, and improved in-ear detection functionality.

While we absolutely loved Nothing ear (1)’s sound and noise-canceling when we reviewed them last year, a lack of Siri integration was a missing feature and one of the only reasons you might choose one of Apple’s best true wireless earbuds, such as the AirPods Pro, instead. Now with the addition of Siri, Nothing’s first-ever product takes another leap.

There is one catch with the new update that a few customers aren’t happy about, however. A few users noted in response that Voice Assistant can only be assigned to the ear (1)’s triple tap feature, which a few folks reckon is just a bit too inconvenient to make it useful. Nothing’s ear (1) buds boast excellent touch controls including swipes and taps that can be customized. One customer suggested Nothing should enable voice assistant for the ‘tap and hold’ gesture, while another said that triple-tap could be less conducive for users who are cycling.
