Another report claims Apple suppliers are gearing up for the launch of new iPad models that will feature OLED displays.

From The Elec:

LG Display was currently shifting some of its OLED production equipment at its E5 line at its plant in Gumi, South Korea to its plant in Paju, TheElec has learned.

The company was transferring some of its tensioners __ used in depositing OLED materials on the panel during production __ to its E6-4 line at its P10 plant in Paju, sources said.

The outlet says LG is “likely” doing this in preparation for the production of OLED panels that will be featured in future iPad models from Apple.

The Elec has reported previously on multiple occasions that suppliers are gearing up for the shift to OLED. Furthermore, ultra-reliable Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo has previously stated that Apple was planning to launch an OLED iPad Air in 2022 but canceled the plans, suggesting a launch of an OLED is on the cards at some point.

Kuo said at the time that Apple was focusing on bringing mini-LED to the 11-inch iPad Pro (2021) instead.

Reports indicate Apple will launch a new iPad Air at a March event tipped for March 8 (or thereabouts), alongside a new iPhone SE and a new MacBook Pro (2021) according to a report from earlier today.
