Microsoft’s Windows Phone (WP) initially launched on October 21, 2010 and then eventually discontinued in 2020. It’s essentially a family of mobile operating systems developed by Microsoft for smartphones as the replacement successor to Windows Mobile and Zune, but what if they continued development? Zac Bowden of Windows Central managed to get his hands on the operating system running on a single-screen Microsoft Lumia 950, mainly due to the fact that engineers working on Andromeda did not have access to dual-screen Andromeda devices, so they had to make do with this handset. After unlocking the device, the user is welcomed by a note-taking screen, while the operating system itself is gesture based, which means that you could swipe left for the Start Menu or right for Cortana.
