Bell Aliant says a software program replace brought on landline customers in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and P.E.I being unable to succeed in 911.
The difficulty lasted between 6am and eight:30am, native time. A “fall-back mechanism” within the telecom supplier’s system meant the outage didn’t affect wi-fi gadgets, Katie Hatfield, a senior communications supervisor at Bell, informed MobileSyrup.

The outage brought on Trade Minister François-Philippe Champagne to tweet his disappointment, calling it “unacceptable.”

It’s unclear if the Minister will take any motion in opposition to Bell.
“We’ve got been in contact with them and are following the state of affairs intently,” Laurie Bouchard, a spokesperson from the Minister’s workplace, informed MobileSyrup.
