JBL has announced multiple earbuds and speakers during the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show that cover a wide range of prices and use cases.
The expanded JBL lineup competes directly with Apple’s AirPods lineup on the high end, while offering a multitude of cheaper options below $100. The speaker lineup is also growing with more budget and premium options.
JBL Tour Pro 2 and Tour One M2
JBL Tour Pro 2 features an AirPods Pro-like design and feature set with active noise cancelation. The Smart Case has an interactive touchscreen for controlling the earbuds, managing audio, and even controlling calls.
Smart Ambient Sound controls adjust what noise is allowed through the earbuds using a custom sound profile. Users can adjust conversation boost and left/right balance.
These AirPods Pro competitors are priced identically at $249.95. They will be available in the spring.
The JBL Tour One M2 are over-the-ear headphones that offer similar noise cancelation technology similar to its Tour Pro 2 earbuds. They are also powered by Hi-Res certified JBL Pro Sound.
These headphones target premium users with their $299.95 price tag. They will also be available in the spring.
JBL Endurance Peak 3, Tune, and Vibe lineups
JBL also revealed its true-wireless earbud lineup in the sub $100 range. These earbuds have less technology packed in and focus on the listening experience and form factor.
The Endurance Peak 3 earbuds have an IP68 rating that enable up to 30 minutes of active use in fresh or salt water. The PowerHook with TwistLock design ensures the earbuds never fall out. They cost $99.95 and launch on February 19.
There are three new sets of earbuds coming to the JBL Tune lineup. The Tune Buds have an earbud-style fit, while the Tune Beam and Tune Flex have a “stick” design similar to original AirPods. These earbuds each offer similar listening specs for $99.95 each, available in June 2023.
The JBL Vibe earbuds also have three fit styles similar to the Tune lineup. The Vibe Buds and Vibe Beam are $49.95 with identical features in different form factors. The Vibe Flex are $69.95 with larger drivers and a stick form factor. They all launch in February.
JBL speakers
JBL introduced two eco-friendly versions of its popular Go and Clip speaker lines. The JBL Pulse 5 was also revealed with 360-degree immersive audio.
The JBL Go 3 Eco and JBL Clip 4 Eco are designed with 90% post-consumer recycled plastic for mechanical construction and 100% recycled fabric for the speaker grille. They feature the same rich sound and specs as the popular non-eco models.
These eco-friendly speakers debut on Earth Day, April 22. The JBL Go 3 Eco is $49.95, and the JBL Clip 4 Eco is $79.95.
The JBL Pulse 5 has a vibrant LED lightshow and can be paired with an infinite number of other Pulse 5 or Pulse 4 speakers. The new model has a larger passive radiator and acoustic volume for deeper bass.
It has an IP67 waterproof rating so it can be used safely near a pool or in the rain. It can play audio for 12 hours on a single charge.
The Pulse 5 will launch in Spring 2023 for $249.95.
