We won’t see a foldable iPhone at CES 2023, but Samsung is rumored to be unveiling a hybrid foldable and slidable AMOLED screen. It measures 8-inches when folded and opens up to a 10-inch display, which can then be further slid out to reveal a 12.4-inch screen. The general press won’t be able to get their hands on it, as the display is only being shown in a private booth.
When folded, it looks like any other smartphone, and can be quickly opened up to be used as a small tablet. Or, slide out one end and it becomes a portable monitor for your laptop. How much would such a device cost? Well, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 starts at $1920 USD, so it’s safe to say that any device with this kind of hybrid screen should retail for well above $2000.
