The Apple Pencil is the main stylus accessory for iPad tablets, and now you can get the second-gen model for $89.00 at multiple stores. That’s a discount of 31% from the original MSRP, and the best price we’ve seen yet.

The second-gen Apple Pencil is the newest stylus from Apple, designed to magnetically attach to a supported iPad. It also charges while it’s magnetically attached, so you don’t have to worry about occasionally plugging it in, like the original model. You can use the Pencil for drawing or handwriting notes, with some apps having special support for stylus input.

Apple Pencil (2nd Gen)

The Apple Pencil (2nd Gen) is the best stylus available for your iPad. This latest iteration features wireless charging, palm rejection, and an intuitive touch interface.

Keep in mind that the second-gen Pencil is only compatible with the 6th-gen iPad Mini or later, 4th-gen iPad Air ot later, 3rd-gen iPad Pro 12.9-inch or later, and all versions of the iPad Pro 11-inch. It’s not a direct replacement for the first-gen — no iPads built for the original Apple Pencil work with the second-gen, and vice-versa. That includes the 10th-gen iPad that Apple just released, which uses the first-gen Pencil with an adapter.

If you have a compatible iPad, the second-gen Pencil is a terrific addition, especially at this reduced price. It could also make a great gift for anyone who already has a supported iPad.
