Masks have been made compulsory once again. In such circumstances, people are speculating on another shutdown. The result could be disastrous as already most households are in the recovery process.

The demand for the fourth set of financial boosts had been highly requested. The citizens have felt the need for financial security. Two checks, in particular, have become popular. The one by Representative Ilhan Omar has political backing.

Another petition on Change.Org has crossed 3million signatures. The bill calls for monthly government aid worth $2000. The IRS has also said that people will have delays in receiving their tax refunds this year.

Let us learn more about the story in detail below.

Stimulus Check Delayed Due To Lack Of Staff

Stimulus Check returns will witness a significant number of delays this year. The main reason for this has been revealed by the IRS.

A huge backlog of payments is pending at the IRS headquarters. According to reports, the amount of returns that are waiting to be processed is almost eight million.

This also includes a staggering two million amended returns. The IRS said that the backlog did not happen due to faulty returns.

IRS stated that they suffered a lack of officials during the pandemic. The shutdown meant that IRS had to work with less than half of its staff.

This made matters worse and hence the whole process got delayed. Americans will thus, have to wait significantly longer for their stimulus checks.
