King Tutankhamun Dagger Meteorite Egypt
Archaeologists have conducted further tests on King Tutankhamun’s 3,400-year-old dagger that was allegedly forged from a meteorite outside Egypt and still have yet to determine exactly how it was manufactured. They have confirmed that the chemical makeup of the weapon does indicate that it was masterly crafted from an iron meteorite, while its gold hit was made from lime plaster, an adhesive material. Read more for a video and additional information.

Why was it manufactured outside of Egypt? Well, lime plaster wasn’t used in Egypt until later, but was common among craftsman in other parts of the world at that time. Their analysis also revealed that the dagger was made using a low temperature technique that did not exceed 1,742° F. Its origins could be from Mitanni, Anatolia and gifted from the king of Mitanni to Amenhotep III, the grandfather of Tutankhamen.
