As more marketers begin to shift their attention toward producing videos, new research is shining light on the benefits many are already seeing through the use of this form of content.

Wyzowl recently published “The State of Video Marketing 2022” report, and statistics indicated that as of this year, 92% of marketers now claim that video is an important part of their marketing strategy. Overall, 87% of marketers now say that video has helped them increase traffic, while 94% claim that they have boosted user understanding through this form of content.

About 86% of respondents said that video has generated leads as well, while 81% claim that it has directly increased sales, as a component of content marketing initiatives. While there are still some marketers who aren’t leveraging video, 79% of people in this group say they expect to begin doing so at some point this year.

Achieving Content Marketing Goals with Video

Video has helped marketers in many areas, and previous research has identified content marketing as one that has been elevated through the use of this medium.

Vidyard and the Content Marketing Institute teamed up to conduct the “Content Marketing Video and Visual Storytelling Survey,” and data suggested that 88% of marketers are now utilizing video for content marketing purposes. However, many are newcomers to this area, with the majority of respondents (38%) stating that they have only been using video for 1-4 years.

Most marketers (83%) agree that video has become more important to their organization over the past two years.
