Then work towards solving them.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have misunderstood something the client has said<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OAT \u2013 Ask for conformation of important statements the client makes \u2013 \u201cjust so I understand your needs, what you are saying is\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The client wasn\u2019t expecting you to ask him to buy anything<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OAT \u2013 Use a trial close early on in the meeting \u2013\u00a0\u201cIf I can put together something to meet your needs, is there any\u00a0reason we can\u2019t be getting it set up today?\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The client doesn\u2019t like\/trust you<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OAT \u2013 Build rapport and then ensure that the client is prepared to deal with you \u2013 \u201cAre you happy for me to work with you on this?\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The client wants to ask someone else\u2019s opinion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OAT \u2013 At the first meeting, ask \u201cIs there anyone else you need to consult before we can get started?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Good, ethical sales techniques are evergreen, aren\u2019t they?
