It won a series of awards and is now set to be turned into a TV show and\/or movie. <\/p>\n<p>It Takes Two managed to beat the likes of Resident Evil Village and Deathloop to grab the coveted Game of the Year prize at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techspot.com\/news\/92576-game-awards-2021-have-arrived-here-biggest-winners.html\">2021 Game Awards<\/a>, thanks to its wildly entertaining gameplay, which, while mostly platforming, covers several genres\u2014it was one of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techspot.com\/bestof\/pc-games\/\">Best PC Games<\/a> (You Should Be Playing) last year.<\/p>\n<p>As with many popular games, it appears that It Takes Two is making the jump from game to film or TV show. Variety <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/tv\/news\/it-takes-two-series-film-dj2-entertainment-1235167573\/\">reports<\/a> that developer Hazelight Studios has teamed with dj2 Entertainment for the adaptation.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"It Takes Two \u2013 Official Gameplay Trailer\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" data-lazy=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GAWHzGNcTEw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCreating the world and story in \u2018It Takes Two\u2019 was so much fun for me and the team,\u201d said Hazelight founder and creative director Josef Fares. \u201cSince it has a strong narrative with many crazy characters and just as crazy co-op action moments, the potential is huge for a great adaption to film or television.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the words \u201cvideo-game adaptation\u201d often draw gasps of despair, dj2 Entertainment was behind the genre\u2019s most successful entry in terms of domestic box office takings: Sonic the Hedgehog. It\u2019s also developing the Tomb Raider anime series at Netflix, shows based on Disco Elysium and Life is Strange, and a film based on Sleeping Dogs.<\/p>\n<p>Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the writers behind Sonic, are attached to the It Takes Two adaptation. No studio or network has picked it up yet, but Variety writes that it is \u201cthe subject of a multi-party bidding war.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no word on whether It Takes Two\u2019s TV\/film adaptation will be animated or live-action. Given it\u2019s the story of two divorcing parents unintentionally turned into dolls by their daughter, it\u2019s easier to imagine the former.
