Using Snapchat\u2019s QR code<\/a>-like Snapcodes, you can add friends, access Filters<\/a> and Lenses, and get access to exclusive content on the Snapchat platform. These codes can be scanned from both your phone\u2019s camera and your phone\u2019s photo gallery. We\u2019ll show you how.<\/p>\n

Scan a Snapcode Using Your Phone\u2019s Camera<\/h2>\n

If your Snapcode is on another device or screen, use Snapchat\u2019s camera view to scan that code in the app.<\/p>\n

To start, launch the Snapchat app on your phone. If you do not already see the camera view, at the bottom of the app, tap the camera icon.<\/p>\n

Point your phone\u2019s camera to the Snapcode you want to scan. Then tap and hold on the Snapcode on your screen to scan it.<\/p>\n

Once Snapchat has scanned the code, you will be redirected to the appropriate item. For example, if you have scanned a Snapchat user\u2019s code, you will be taken to that user\u2019s profile to add them as a friend.<\/p>\n

Scan a Snapcode From Your Phone\u2019s Gallery<\/h2>\n

If your Snapcode is saved in your iPhone or Android phone\u2019s photo gallery, use the method here to scan that code. The steps vary by the phone you have, so follow the section that\u2019s for your phone.<\/p>\n

Scan a Snapcode on iPhone<\/h3>\n

Open the Snapchat app on your iPhone. At the top-left corner of the app, tap your profile icon.<\/p>\n

On your profile page, in the top-right corner, tap \u201cSettings\u201d (a gear icon).<\/p>\n

Scroll down the \u201cSettings\u201d page and tap \u201cSnapcodes.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the \u201cSnapcodes\u201d screen, tap \u201cScan From Camera Roll.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scan a Snapcode on Android<\/h3>\n

On your Android phone, launch the Snapchat app. In the app\u2019s top-right corner, tap the \u201cAdd Friends\u201d option (an icon of a person with a + sign).<\/p>\n

How to Access Your Profile Snapcode<\/h2>\n

Each Snapchat account has a unique Snapcode, and you can give yours to others so they can scan it and add you as a friend. Later, you can delete Snapchat friends<\/a> if you don\u2019t want them.<\/p>\n

To reveal your Snapcode, in Snapchat\u2019s top-left corner, tap your profile icon.<\/p>\n
