This new blog has been several years in the making, but it wasn\u2019t until I gave a presentation at my local library last fall that I realized people were interested and inspired by my story. \"made-in-usa-flyer\"<\/p>\n

I spent a full hour telling local residents how to buy Made in USA. I brought in over a dozen items from my home for Show and Tell. People asked lots of questions and were surprised to learn so many things were still made here.<\/p>\n

When my colleague Rachel Cunliffe and I made the difficult decision to cease publication of our magazine, Manufacturing Marketing<\/em>, I knew I wanted to continue with two directions I had been pursuing: Interviews of people whose companies make things here in the US, and my own stories \/ reviews of the products I buy and use every day.<\/p>\n

Hence, this blog \u2014 Keep It Made USA \u2014 the revamp of which is still in progress. Over the next couple of weeks, we\u2019ll be adding a new layout to make easy to find new and featured articles.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s taken me awhile to acknowledge I\u2019ve become an \u201cinfluencer.\u201d I\u2019m glad people read my posts on LinkedIn<\/a> or the articles I wrote in the magazine and have begun taking small steps to begin their own \u201cMade in USA\u201d journeys.<\/p>\n

I do want to make one point though: Unlike celebrity influencers, I\u2019m not paid to write about any company or product<\/strong>. Nor would I accept renumeration if someone offered it.<\/p>\n

So why do I? Because I love the United States and manufacturing. While I\u2019ve worked hard all my life, I\u2019ve also I\u2019ve been given a great deal. Promoting the companies and the products they make in order to keep jobs here stateside<\/strong> is my way of giving back.<\/p>\n
