Twitter is taking a page from Instagram\u2019s book and introducing a feature similar to \u2018Close Friends<\/a>,\u2019 as reported by InputMag<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Twitter\u2019s new close friends feature, currently called \u2018Flock,\u2019 will allow you to publish a tweet that is only visible to a specific number of pre-selected people, 150 at max.<\/p>\n

The feature, which was first teased in July 2021, saw Twitter call the feature \u201cTrusted Friends,\u201d though Flock surely has a better ring to it, and forms a clear distinction between Twitter and Instagram\u2019s similarly-working features.<\/p>\n

According to Input<\/em><\/a>, since last July, mobile developer Alessandro Paluzz has been keeping a keen eye on the development of Flock and has found code alluding to the feature still being in development.<\/p>\n

He also adds that the maximum number of people you can add to your Flock list is 150, and if you remove someone from the list, they won\u2019t be notified about it. If you\u2019re in a Flock, the notification you\u2019ll receive will read, \u201cYou can see this Tweet because the author has added you to their Twitter Flock.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Twitter hasn\u2019t revealed any other information about the in-development feature, it is likely that it will be exclusive to Twitter Blue users, similar to how the San Francisco, California-based platform rolled out NFT authentication and NFT profile picture support<\/a> for paid users.<\/p>\n
