Google Slides<\/a> is a terrific tool for creating business presentations, but it also offers great features for educational slideshows. Whether for students in class or employees in training, here\u2019s how to make flashcards on Google Slides.<\/p>\n

Because of the application\u2019s ease of access, you can create a set of flashcards in a single presentation and then share it with a link<\/a>. Or you can make interactive flashcards to quiz yourself or study<\/a> for an upcoming exam. Whatever you choose to do with the flashcards, we\u2019ll walk you through making them on Google Slides.<\/p>\n

Set Up the Slide<\/h2>\n

To get started, let\u2019s set up a slide as a flashcard. Use whichever layout you want, and add text, photos, or other objects. You\u2019ll also put the answer to the flashcard on the slide in its own box<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s an example.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re creating a set of geography flashcards for students to guess the state based on a picture. So, we have \u201cName this state,\u201d an image of the state we want them to name, and then the answer (in red).<\/p>\n

Animate the Answer<\/h2>\n

Once you set up a flashcard, you\u2019ll animate the answer so that it only displays when the slide (flashcard) is clicked. This allows the student to see the flashcard, make their guess, and then click to see if they\u2019re correct.<\/p>\n

Select the object containing the answer. Then, click Insert > Animation from the menu.<\/p>\n

When the Motion sidebar appears on the right, expand the Object Animations section.<\/p>\n

In the first drop-down box, choose the type of animation you want to use<\/a>. For our example, we\u2019ll pick \u201cAppear\u201d so that the answer simply appears on-screen. You can optionally use the slider to select the speed for the animation.<\/p>\n

In the second drop-down box, choose \u201cOn Click\u201d so that the animation plays when the user clicks the slide.<\/p>\n

To test the animation, click \u201cPlay\u201d at the bottom of the sidebar.\u00a0You can also play the presentation using the Slideshow drop-down box at the top.<\/p>\n

Follow the same process for the remaining slides. You can create all the flashcards up front and add the animations later or do them one at a time.<\/p>\n

When you play the presentation, you should see the flashcard slide, click to reveal the answer, and then click to go to the next flashcard. Repeat this process for the entire slideshow. Then, share the presentation or save it to quiz yourself.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> If you plan to publish the presentation<\/a>, avoid using the Google Slides Auto-Play feature otherwise the answers will be revealed automatically.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n
