Restore or Delete Documents in Google Docs Trash on Desktop<\/h2>\n

To access your deleted documents on your Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer, use the Google Drive site. All your deleted Google Docs are available there.<\/p>\n

To start, open a web browser on your computer and launch the Google Drive<\/a> site. Sign in to your account on the site.<\/p>\n

In Drive\u2019s left sidebar, click \u201cTrash.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Click<\/p>\n

On the right pane, all your deleted Google Docs documents will appear. This page also displays the other files you have deleted from your account.<\/p>\n

To restore a document, select that document on the list. Then, in Drive\u2019s top-right corner, click the \u201cRestore From Trash\u201d option (a clock icon).<\/p>\n

Tip:<\/strong> To recover or delete multiple documents, select them all on the screen and then choose the appropriate option.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To delete a document for good and free up some space<\/a>, select that document. Then, in Drive\u2019s top-right corner, click \u201cDelete Forever\u201d (a trash can icon).<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s it. Your selected files are now deleted or recovered, depending on what option you chose.<\/p>\n

Restore or Delete Documents in Google Docs Trash on Mobile<\/h2>\n

If you are on an iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, use the Google Docs app to find your Docs recycle bin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To start, launch the Google Docs app on your phone. In the app\u2019s top-left corner, tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines).<\/p>\n

In the menu that opens, tap \u201cTrash.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Tap<\/p>\n

On the \u201cTrash\u201d screen, you will see all your deleted Google Docs documents.<\/p>\n

To recover or delete a document, next to that document\u2019s name, tap the three dots.<\/p>\n

A menu will pop up from the bottom of your phone\u2019s screen. To recover the selected document, tap \u201cRestore\u201d in this menu. To delete the selected document for good, tap \u201cDelete Forever\u201d in the menu.<\/p>\n
