Data products\u00a0and data mesh represent a framework for you to think about data that lives\u00a0everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Borgman and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/ashwin-patil-66337a21\/\">Ashwin Patil<\/a> (pictured, right), partner and principal at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd., spoke with theCUBE industry analysts\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/luccazara\/\">Lisa Martin<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dvellante\/\">Dave Vellante<\/a> at the recent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecube.net\/events\/aws\/reinvent-2022\">AWS re:Invent<\/a>\u00a0conference, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media\u2019s livestreaming studio. They discussed the evolution of data usage, using data products as a bridge, how data can drive revenue and more. <em>(* Disclosure below.)<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>The evolving use of data<\/h3>\n<p>Data products aim to give users a single point of access to manage and access all data available about their business with minimal hassle. Starburst allows users to create a view of data that can span multiple data sources, decoupling where the data lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cW<span class=\"transcript-item inside-selection active\">e\u2019ve gone from having data in too many places to now having data products bring all<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"transcript-item inside-selection\">of that together and drive business decisions faster with<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"transcript-item inside-selection\">more data and more accuracy,\u201d Patil said. \u201cExternally, a lot of that has got to do with how the ecosystems<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"transcript-item inside-selection\">are evolving for data products that use not only company data,<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"transcript-item inside-selection\">but also the ecosystem data that includes customers, that include suppliers and vendors.<\/span> \u201d<\/p>\n<p>Starburst\u2019s goal is to make data easily consumable for the average business, without needing a data lake, a data warehouse or an operational database.
