The cloud has accelerated digitization, especially in the post-pandemic era. Nevertheless, this begs the question: Does everything need to go to the cloud?<\/p>\n

Through a cloud-smart approach, TEKsystems Global Services LLC helps enterprises identity what ought to move to the cloud and what should not for a seamless digital transformation, according to Brandon Carroll<\/a> (pictured, left), executive director of transformation, DevOps and cloud services, at TEKsystems.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeveral years ago, we kind of pushed away\u00a0that cloud-first mentality to the side\u00a0and we use more of a cloud-smart [strategy],\u201d Carroll stated.\u00a0\u201cDo applications, data need to go to the cloud\u00a0in a way that\u2019s modern? We\u2019re seeing a complete misalignment\u00a0between business goals and IT achievements,\u00a0outcomes, etc.\u00a0You can automate things, you can move it to the cloud,\u00a0but if you didn\u2019t solve a core business problem\u00a0or challenge, what\u2019d you really do?\u201d<\/p>\n

Carroll and Srinivasan Swaminatha<\/a> (pictured, right), managing director of modern cloud analytics at TEKsystems, spoke with theCUBE industry analysts\u00a0Savannah Peterson<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Lisa Martin<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0AWS re:Invent<\/a>, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media\u2019s livestreaming studio. They discussed how the company propels digital transformation through the cloud and the importance of data.\u00a0(* Disclosure below.)<\/em><\/p>\n

The urge for data monetization<\/h3>\n

By putting data and people together, data monetization becomes a reality. As a result, new revenue channels are opened, according to Caroll.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe theme we\u2019re seeing and hearing a lot about\u00a0is data monetization,\u201d he stated. \u201cSo, technology companies have figured it out\u00a0and used techniques to personalize things\u00a0and get you ads. Now all industries are really looking at ways to open new revenue channels,\u00a0looking at ways to drive a better customer experience, a better employee experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services Inc., TEKsystems helps organizations with\u00a0smart cloud modernization.\u00a0This makes digital transformation inevitable, according to Swaminatha.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe always first look for where the customer is\u00a0in their cloud journey path\u00a0and make sure we advise them with the right next steps,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd AWS having its services\u00a0across the spectrum makes it even easier\u00a0for us to look at what business problem they\u2019re solving\u00a0and then align it according to the process and technology so that at the end of the day, we want end-user adoption.\u00a0We don\u2019t want to build a fancy new gadget\u00a0that no one uses.\u201d<\/p>\n
