At the time, the law adopted by Congress and signed by the president included the three previous stimulus payments. The initial $1,200 check was part of the CARES Act, which was approved in March 2020. A second check for $600 was part of a spending plan that was approved in December 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n

The third check for $1,400 was included in the American Rescue Plan, passed in March 2021. The Inflation Reduction Act, which Congress enacted in August 2022, and the federal government\u2019s 2023 omnibus budget plan do not include Economic Impact Payments and stimulus checks. If a person was qualified for one of the original three stimulus payments but hasn\u2019t yet received any of them, they may still submit a claim.
