According to Nielsen, the offering, available in the U.S. on Jan. 11, will provide a consistent, comparable and deduplicated view of ads across screens, whether that\u2019s linear, connected TV, desktop or mobile.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUltimately, Nielsen One will allow advertisers and publishers to plan and transact on a single set of metrics across linear and digital. And those metrics are reliable, independent, standardized across the industry and across all of those different platforms,\u201d Kimberly Gilberti, svp, product management, Nielsen, said during a press briefing on the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/convergent-tv\/nielsen-debuting-nielsen-one-cross-platform-metric\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">standard cross-platform metrics<\/a>, Nielsen One Ads will introduce impact data for granular linear television measurement, calculating audiences at the second level rather than the industry standard of minute-level, according to Gilberti.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row justify-content-center\">\n<div class=\"col-12\">\n<section class=\"section section--teaser section--teaser_partners section--teaser_partners--horizontal px-0 py-4\">\n<div class=\"section--teaser_partner\"><a class=\"link-reset text-decoration-none\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/convergent-tv\/roku-and-nielsen-expand-partnership\/\">            <picture class=\"image image--partner\"><source srcset=\"https:\/\/static-prod.adweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/roku-nielsen-expand-measurement-2022-640x360.jpg.webp\" type=\"image\/webp\"><source srcset=\"https:\/\/static-prod.adweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/roku-nielsen-expand-measurement-2022-640x360.jpg\" type=\"image\/jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/mailinvest.blog\/wp-content\/themes\/breek\/assets\/images\/transparent.gif\" data-lazy=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/static-prod.adweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/roku-nielsen-expand-measurement-2022-640x360.jpg\" class=\"image\" alt=\"image\" title=\"\"\/>             <\/source><\/source><\/picture><\/a><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Nielsen\u2019s svp of product management explained the strategy is to create more \u201ccomparability between the metrics you see on the linear TV platform as compared to digital platforms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Nielsen One\u2019s proprietary ID system will be leveraged along with data from Nielsen\u2019s panels. According to the company, direct publisher integrations across walled gardens will provide an understanding of persons-level campaign impressions.<\/p>\n<p>The company noted that Nielsen One Ads will grow throughout the upcoming year to include advanced audience and outcomes measurement to support a campaign from end to end.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we are aiming to provide as part of the evolution of the product, and beginning of course with that first release on Jan. 11, are three core foundational tenants,\u201d Gilberti said. \u201cIt is consistency of measurement; it is extensive coverage; and its comparability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Nielsen One Ads, the company also recently introduced <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/convergent-tv\/nielsen-expands-nielsen-one-alpha\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nielsen One Content Alpha<\/a>, which provides cross-platform, deduplicated and syndicated content metrics across devices to deliver a view of aggregated program performance across distribution platforms.\u00a0Together, the offerings make up Nielsen One, which the company said will bridge current measurement capabilities, whether that\u2019s linear or digital, into a single system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mission, goal and objective is to bring clarity, simplicity to this very complicated world of media,\u201d Gilberti said. \u201cAnd Nielsen One is the road to how we get there.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4><strong>The measurement element in the room<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Despite offering a Q&amp;A during its press briefing on the Nielsen One Ads announcement, Nielsen reps didn\u2019t address the company\u2019s ongoing struggle with the Media Rating Council. <\/p>\n<p>In September 2021, the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/convergent-tv\/mrc-strips-accreditation-from-nielsen-national-and-local-tv-measurement-services\/\" target=\"_blank\">MRC stripped Nielsen\u2019s accreditation<\/a> after the measurement giant admitted to lowballing audiences nationally and locally early in the pandemic. Then, in November 2022, the MRC voted to continue its suspension of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/convergent-tv\/nielsens-accreditation-status-remains-suspended-by-mrc\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nielsen\u2019s national ratings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of Nielsen\u2019s measurement difficulties, more competitors have stepped into the spotlight, including Comscore, iSpot and VideoAmp, which recently announced a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/convergent-tv\/warner-bros-discovery-videoamp-deal-measurement\/\" target=\"_blank\">deal with Warner Bros.
