Every role within the enterprise will have the responsibility of analyzing data, given that data has emerged as the lifeblood of modern business.<\/p>\n

By partnering with Amazon Web Services Inc., Couchbase Inc. embeds operational analytics and democratizes data using its cloud database platform called Capella. This triggers a highly interactive, personalized and customized user experience, with Arthrex serving as a worthy example, according to John Kreisa<\/a> (pictured), chief marketing officer of Couchbase.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe announced this week\u00a0a joint customer Arthrex with\u00a0AWS,\u201d Kreisa said. \u201cArthrex is an orthopedics medical devices company\u00a0and they use our edge capabilities. Think of the kinds of surgeries\u00a0that orthopedic surgeons do \u2014 it\u2019s scopes, and they are often inside.\u00a0What it does is it collects the data,\u00a0the video data and all of that, on a medical device\u00a0and then brings it back to a centralized app\u00a0for the doctors to use in post, when they\u2019re actually doing further medical recommendations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kreisa spoke with theCUBE industry analysts\u00a0Savannah Peterson<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Lisa Martin<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0AWS re:Invent<\/a>, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media\u2019s livestreaming studio. They discussed how Couchbase is revamping interactive user experiences in different sectors using data and its partnership with AWS.\u00a0(* Disclosure below.)<\/em><\/p>\n

How Capella is revamping the developer experience<\/h3>\n

Since Capella is used to build mission-critical applications, Couchbase has renovated it to better suit developer needs, according to Kreisa, who said that this is vital for enhanced productivity.<\/p>\n

\u201cCapella; it\u2019s a cloud database services,\u201d he stated. \u201cAt the end of October, we announced a revamp\u00a0of our user interface focused on developers.\u00a0And what we\u2019ve done is make it so that it\u2019s familiar\u00a0to developers. It\u2019s a GitHub-like experience.\u00a0So, developer comes in, they\u2019re very familiar,\u00a0of course, with GitHub, they are familiar\u00a0with how the Couchbase Capella interface will work.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Couchbase-AWS partnership touches on various verticals, Kreisa pointed out. The collaboration also handles mission-critical workloads such as those required for the manufacturing industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a great AWS relationship,\u201dKreisa noted. \u201cIn fact, we announced a deepening\u00a0of that relationship, a strategic collaboration agreement.\u00a0It\u2019s a multi-year agreement; it\u2019s focused on go-to market,\u00a0from a sales and marketing standpoint.\u00a0So, it\u2019s deepening an already strong relationship\u00a0and we\u2019re really excited about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
