To share your screen in a Discord server, access your server and enter a voice channel, then select the “Share Your Screen” option, configure the streaming settings, and go live. You can screen share in a Discord DM by voice-calling the person, then choosing the “Share Your Screen” option.<\/p>\n

Whether you want to show your gaming skills to your friends, or you\u2019d like them to see your app window, it\u2019s easy to share your screen<\/a> over Discord. You can share your screen in a server or a DM<\/a> (Direct Message) on your Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iPhone, and iPad devices. We\u2019ll show you how.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> If you share your screen in a server channel, all users of that channel can see your screen. However, if you screen share<\/a> in a DM, only the participants of that conversation can see your app window.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Share Your Screen on Discord for Desktop or Web<\/h2>\n

All of Discord\u2019s desktop clients (Windows, Mac, Linux, Web) support screen sharing, which means you can use any of your computers to let others see your screen\u2019s contents.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re on Windows, Discord will automatically share your PC\u2019s audio<\/a> when you screen share. On a Mac<\/a>, you\u2019ll have to head to Discord\u2019s User Settings > Voice & Video menu and click \u201cInstall\u201d in the \u201cScreen Share\u201d section to install a utility that allows you to share your machine\u2019s audio with the app. Discord on Linux, however, doesn\u2019t support audio sharing at all.<\/p>\n

Screen Share in a Discord Server<\/h3>\n

With that out of the way, start the screen-sharing process by launching Discord on your computer<\/a>. In the app\u2019s left sidebar, click the server<\/a> in which you want to share your screen.<\/p>\n

After choosing a server, access a voice channel in the server.<\/p>\n

Beneath your channel list, you\u2019ll now see a \u201cVoice Connected\u201d section. Here, click the \u201cShare Your Screen\u201d option (an icon of a monitor with an arrow in it).<\/p>\n

Tip:<\/strong> If the \u201cShare Your Screen\u201d icon is grayed out, you don\u2019t have permission to screen share in your channel. In this case, ask your server admin<\/a> to grant you the required permission.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A \u201cScreen Share\u201d box will open. Here, to share your entire screen, click the \u201cScreens\u201d tab and choose your screen.<\/p>\n

To share a specific app window (a Firefox window, for example), then access the \u201cApplications\u201d tab and choose your app window. We\u2019ll go ahead with this option.<\/p>\n

After selecting a window to share, you\u2019ll see further screen-sharing options. Here, Discord has prefilled both \u201cWhat You\u2019re Streaming\u201d and \u201cStreaming Channel\u201d options. In the \u201cStream Quality\u201d section, click the drop-down menu and choose a quality type.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> You can only stream your content in 720p and up to 30 FPS. For full HD and 60 FPS streaming, you need a Discord Nitro subscription<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To now start sharing your screen, in the open box\u2019s bottom-right corner, click \u201cGo Live.\u201d<\/p>\n

A floating window displaying your chosen app\u2019s content will appear on your screen. This is the content that Discord is currently sharing in your selected channel.<\/p>\n

Share Your Screen in a Private Discord Chat<\/h3>\n

If you\u2019d like to share your screen in a DM conversation, then access that chat and click the \u201cVoice Call\u201d or \u201cVideo Call\u201d option.<\/p>\n

When your call connects, select the \u201cShare Your Screen\u201d option and configure the streaming settings. Then, start sharing by clicking \u201cGo Live.\u201d<\/p>\n

Share Your Screen With Discord on Android or iPhone<\/h2>\n

Sharing your iPhone<\/a>, iPad, or Android device\u2019s screen with Discord is as easy as using a desktop computer.<\/p>\n

Screen Share in a Discord Server<\/h3>\n

To begin sharing your screen in a server, launch the Discord app on your phone or tablet and select the server in which you want to stream. Choose a voice channel and then tap \u201cJoin Voice.\u201d<\/p>\n
