Visit Amazon’s Appstore download page, download the APK file, and open it. Grant permission to “install unknown apps” if prompted. Finally, tap “Install” to install the Amazon Appstore.<\/p>\n

Android devices almost exclusively come with the Google Play Store for downloading apps and games. However, if you want to\u00a0use Android without a Google account<\/a>, there are alternatives. One popular option is the Amazon Appstore.<\/p>\n

The Amazon Appstore is the app store that\u2019s available on Amazon Fire tablets<\/a>, Fire TVs, and Windows 11<\/a>. It\u2019s much smaller than the Play Store, but it\u2019s easily the next best choice. We\u2019ll show you how to install it on any Android device.<\/p>\n

We will be sideloading<\/a> the Amazon Appstore. To begin, open a web browser such as Google Chrome on your Android device and head to Amazon\u2019s Appstore download page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Next, tap the \u201cGet Amazon Appstore\u201d button.<\/p>\n

The APK file will begin downloading after a few seconds. When it\u2019s finished, open the file from the notifications.<\/p>\n

You may be asked to grant the browser permission to \u201cinstall unknown apps\u201d before you can install it. You\u2019ll be taken to the settings to toggle on the option.<\/p>\n

Now just tap \u201cInstall\u201d on the pop-up or select the file from the notifications again if it doesn\u2019t come back.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not easy to use an Android phone without a Google account\u2014and maybe Amazon isn\u2019t much better in your eyes\u2014but at least there are some alternatives. F-Droid is another app store worth checking out.<\/a><\/p>\n
