When you pin someone\u2019s chat on Snapchat<\/a>, that chat always appears at the top of the \u201cChat\u201d screen. This ensures you don\u2019t miss any messages from that person. We\u2019ll show you how to pin and unpin people in Snapchat.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> As of the writing in December 2021, you can only pin chats in Snapchat for iPhone. Snapchat for Android has yet to receive the feature.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What Happens When You Pin People on Snapchat<\/h2>\n

When you pin a conversation, it always appears at the top of your \u201cChat\u201d screen, even if you receive new messages in other conversations. If you no longer want a chat at the top, you can easily unpin that conversation.<\/p>\n

Snapchat also lets you customize the icon<\/a> used to display the pinned chats. We\u2019ll cover that as well here in this guide.<\/p>\n

Pin a Conversation With Someone on Snapchat<\/h2>\n

To pin a conversation, first, open Snapchat on your iPhone. In the bottom bar of the app, tap \u201cChat\u201d (a bubble icon).<\/p>\n

On the \u201cChat\u201d screen, tap and hold the conversation you want to pin.<\/p>\n

\"Select<\/p>\n

In the menu that opens, tap \u201cChat Settings.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the \u201cChat Settings\u201d menu, tap \u201cPin Conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

And your selected chat is now pinned to the top of the \u201cChat\u201d screen. Next to this chat, you will see a pin icon.<\/p>\n

Enjoy quick access to your favorite chats!<\/p>\n

If you use Google Chat, you can pin conversations in that service<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n

Unpin a Conversation With Someone on Snapchat<\/h2>\n

To unpin a chat and remove it<\/a> from the top of the \u201cChat\u201d screen, first, open Snapchat on your iPhone. In the app\u2019s bottom bar, tap the \u201cChat\u201d option (a bubble icon).<\/p>\n

On the \u201cChat\u201d page, tap and hold the pinned chat to unpin.<\/p>\n

\"Select<\/p>\n

In the menu that appears, tap \u201cChat Settings.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the \u201cChat Settings\u201d menu, select \u201cUnpin Conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s it. Your selected conversation is no longer pinned.<\/p>\n

Change the Pinned Conversation Icon on Snapchat<\/h2>\n

If you do not like the default icon used for pinned chats, replace it with any other icon of your choice. You can always revert back to the default icon.<\/p>\n

To do so, first, open Snapchat on your iPhone. In the app\u2019s top-left corner, tap your profile icon.<\/p>\n

On the profile page, in the top-right corner, tap \u201cSettings\u201d (a gear icon).<\/p>\n

On the \u201cSettings\u201d page, scroll down to the \u201cAdditional Services\u201d section. Then tap \u201cManage.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the \u201cManage\u201d menu, tap \u201cFriend Emojis.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the bottom of the \u201cFriend Emojis\u201d screen, tap \u201cPinned Conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

You now have various icons on your screen. To make an icon the default for pinned chats, tap that icon on this screen. Snapchat will immediately start using that icon for your pinned conversations.<\/p>\n

To go back, in the app\u2019s top-left corner, tap the back-arrow icon.<\/p>\n
