The workplace has fundamentally changed in recent years. With the rise of remote work and larger workloads from data accumulation, businesses need cost-effective and efficient infrastructure solutions. Lumen Technologies Inc. is positioning its services to support this next generation of workers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat Lumen invests in is working\u00a0on the networks that connect workers\u00a0and workloads both from a visibility\u00a0and a managed services perspective, to make sure\u00a0that we\u2019re removing blind spots\u00a0and then removing potential choke points\u00a0and capacity issues,\u201d said David Shacochis<\/a>\u00a0(pictured), vice president of product strategy and global head of managed services at Lumen. \u00a0\u201cBut then also being adaptable\u00a0and dynamic enough to be able to go\u00a0and reconfigure that network to reach all the different places that workloads are going to evolve into.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shacohis spoke with theCUBE host\u00a0Lisa Martin<\/a> at AWS re:Invent<\/a>, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media\u2019s livestreaming studio. They discussed how workloads have changed, how Lumen has rebranded itself, how AWS is helping companies experiment with work structures and more. (* Disclosure below.)<\/em><\/p>\n

The future of work<\/h3>\n

The burgeoning cloud has allowed companies to branch out and experiment with what the AWS platform enables. One such example is Major League Baseball, which used Lumen\u2019s technology to transform its work structure.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a cool use case we worked\u00a0on with Major League Baseball, Fox Sports,\u00a0and AWS with using the Lumen network\u00a0to essentially virtualize the production truck,\u201dShacochis said. \u201cThey\u2019re always talking\u00a0about the team and their production truck.\u00a0Well, that production truck is\u00a0a truck sitting outside the stadium.\u201d<\/p>\n

The conversation ended with the pair discussing how Lumen has rebranded in the past few years. Lumen is helping the world enter the fourth industrial revolution, according to\u00a0Shacochis.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us, to acquire, analyze\u00a0and act on all that data and Lumen\u2019s platform\u00a0for amazing things helps forge that path forward\u00a0to that fourth industrial revolution, along with great partners like AWS,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
