Infosys Ltd. launched<\/a> its Cobalt suite of reference architectures in the summer of 2020, offering 14,000 cloud assets and 200 industry blueprints. Now, the global system integrator has embarked on Cobalt 2.0<\/a>, with a mission to transform industries.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to focus on industry clouds,\u201d said Anant Adya<\/a> (pictured, right), executive vice president for Infosys Cobalt. \u201cIf we go to banking, they would say they want a better security posture; if we go to a retailer, they want to have smart stores; if we go to a manufacturing customer, they want a smart factory. Cloud, data, edge, [internet of things], 5G and artificial intelligence will come together to deliver business outcomes. That\u2019s where we are heading with Cobalt 2.0.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adya spoke with theCUBE hosts\u00a0Lisa Martin<\/a> and Savannah Peterson<\/a> at AWS re:Invent<\/a>, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media\u2019s livestreaming studio. He was joined by David Wilson<\/a> (pictured, left), senior vice president and head for partner ecosystem at Infosys, and they discussed how the evolution of Infosys Cobalt has gained significance in delivering business results for the company\u2019s enterprise customers. Changing the GSI model<\/h3>\n

Leveraging cloud-driven technologies to deliver business outcomes is transforming the global system integrator<\/a> model, according to Wilson.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s happened with cloud now, it\u2019s not about the transaction upfront, it\u2019s about consumption of the technology and bringing services to form an outcome,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cIt changes the model dramatically. Global system integrators are in a great position because we can pull that together to the benefit of our partners, put our secret sauce around it, and take these solutions to market.\u201d<\/p>\n

The delivery of outcomes has even extended to customer expectations for the end product. Infosys has found that results are increasingly tied to the delivery of service for a particular business.<\/p>\n

\u201cContractual structures are now moving into business outcomes, we are getting paid by the outcomes that we are delivering,\u201d Adya said. \u201cWith one of the insurance companies that we have, we actually get paid by the number of claims that we process.\u201d<\/p>\n
