Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is joining other governors in a legal fight over the continued delay of $2,000 stimulus checks. The money<\/a> was meant to help families get through the recession and into recovery, but it\u2019s been more than a month since Congress approved that second round of checks.<\/p>\n

Stimulus Check Plans For Pennysylvania<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

He\u2019s concerned that Congress may not send out all of them by the end of September, which is when this particular stimulus expires.<\/p>\n

Wolf tells ABC27 the state is doing everything it can to get the money out of Washington and into Pennsylvanians\u2019 hands. It\u2019s been more than a month since Congress approved that second round of stimulus checks for Americans.<\/p>\n

Wolf says he\u2019s hopeful the U.S. Supreme Court will rule in favor of Pennsylvania\u2019s challenge to the Federal Government, which would allow his administration to send out those additional stimulus payments much faster.<\/p>\n

The governor is doing everything he can to get the money out of Washington and into Pennsylvanians\u2019 hands.<\/p>\n

This week, the governor is pushing for that money to be sent out. He says about 1.7 million Pennsylvania families will be eligible for that $2,000 check. The governor says he\u2019s not giving up on pressuring Washington to send that money.<\/p>\n

He has spent the past few weeks trying to convince Pennsylvania lawmakers to support his plan to pay for the stimulus checks with state funding instead of federal dollars. But some members of both parties are hesitant because they say it will raise taxes on working families in order to fund other programs like education and health care costs associated with Medicaid expansion under Obamacare. Governor Wolf publicly criticized them during a press conference Thursday afternoon, calling it an \u201cinjustice\u201d when people who work hard don\u2019t receive help from their government because legislators voted against sending out stimulus checks earlier this year even though they were approved by President Trump last year as part of his budget proposal before Congress passed its own version which included them being sent out later than originally scheduled due to uncertainty over whether or not anyone would actually sign off on them at all before another election can take place within.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
