As promised, select Tesla vehicles <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tesla\/status\/1602788414813790210\">now have the Steam beta<\/a>, giving owners access to thousands of high-end games. Then, there are new cabin camera controls, Model Y Track Mode, and more.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020,\u00a0Elon Musk\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1219881215156801537\">promised<\/a>\u00a0that the Model S would have a built-in gaming rig powerful enough to play AAA games like the Witcher 3 or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewgeek.com\/86050\/new-teslas-have-ps5-level-gaming-power-thanks-to-amd\/\">PS5-level graphics<\/a>. The 2022 holiday update is rolling out this week, but it only delivers Steam to the <a href=\"https:\/\/driveteslacanada.ca\/news\/tesla-launches-steam-model-s-x-refresh\/\">newest<\/a> Model S and X vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla does plan to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BLKMDL3\/status\/1602881416588427264\">offer a retrofit<\/a> for vehicles that don\u2019t have the latest graphics performance with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but we\u2019re not sure when. Unfortunately, this doesn\u2019t work on Model 3\/Y. Tesla believes that as cars get more advanced, thanks to features like full self-driving, having entertainment like movies and video games will be important in vehicles. Or, you know, while you\u2019re waiting for the Supercharger to finish.<\/p>\n<p>While Steam inside a Tesla is the headline feature here, that\u2019s not all you can expect in this massive update. Tesla\u2019s official <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tesla\/status\/1602788414813790210\">holiday update version\u00a02022.44.25.1<\/a> finally added Apple Music, access to the cabin camera in dog mode to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tesla\/status\/1602788428390727683\">check on your pups<\/a>, Track Mode on the Model Y Performance, improved media controls, and Zoom calls from the cabin.
