Congratulations are in order for Lindsay Ell, who recently became<\/a> an American citizen. The country singer took the oath and celebrated with her Little Big Town bandmates recently outside of Washington D.C.\u2019s United States Capitol Building, where she posted photos of herself and other new citizens on Instagram.<\/p>\n

She also shared a video of herself taking the oath outside of the building alongside some of the other new citizens \u2014 before popping a bottle of champagne with her bandmates.<\/p>\n

Lindsay Ell, the Canadian-born country singer who recently passed her citizenship test and is now an American citizen, celebrated with her bandmates from Little Big Town after receiving her paperwork.<\/p>\n

Lindsay Ell posted two photos to Instagram<\/a> of herself with the four members of Little Big Town: Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. She captioned one photo \u201cMy new American family!\u201d and captioned another \u201cI love my new American family! We celebrated today!\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to celebrating with Little Big Town, Ell also shared a video of herself taking the oath outside of the Capitol building on July 4th. In it, she says: \u201cI did it!\u201d<\/p>\n

The country singer, 31, celebrated the milestone by taking a naturalization oath with her bandmates from Little Big Town.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was born in Canada and have been here for as long as I can remember,\u201d Ellis shared with People of her upbringing in Toronto. \u201cIt is really amazing to be able to say that I am an American citizen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ell made sure to include her family in the celebration, which took place on July 26 at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in Nashville, Tennessee. \u201cMy whole family flew from Canada to witness this special day with me,\u201d she said of her parents and other relatives who flew down for the event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
