There\u2019s arguably only a handful of partnerships in the enterprise solutions and cloud technology spaces,that have worked as well as that of Amazon Web Services Inc. and Accenture PLC, according to Sara Alligood<\/a> (pictured, right), worldwide leader of the Accenture AWS Business Group at AWS.<\/p>\n

And a shared obsession on enabling customer outcomes is one major reason behind it.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo just by consistently<\/span>\u00a0taking those customer signals and<\/span>\u00a0really obsessing over our customer\u2019s success,<\/span>\u00a0we know what we\u2019re marching towards,\u201d she said.<\/span>\u00a0\u201cThen we extract those themes<\/span>\u00a0and really work together to think about how we<\/span>\u00a0go bigger, better, faster, together<\/span>\u00a0and accomplish and solve those customer problems.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Alligood and Andy Tay<\/a> (pictured, left), senior managing director at Accenture, spoke with theCUBE industry analyst John Walls<\/a> at the <\/span>AWS Executive Summit at re:Invent<\/span><\/a>, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media\u2019s livestreaming studio. They discussed the successes of both companies\u2019 collaboration to date. <\/span>(* Disclosure below.)<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Breaking down the modernization trend<\/h3>\n

Companies are increasingly turning to their cloud solutions providers to modernize. Factors such as the current macroeconomic situation and talent shortage have played leading roles in this emerging trend, according to Alligood.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut even with those,<\/span>\u00a0our customers still need us to solve for sustainability<\/span>\u00a0and still focus on inclusion, diversity and equity,\u201d she said.<\/span>\u00a0\u201cAnd so we can\u2019t lower the bar on anything<\/span>\u00a0that we\u2019ve already been doing. W<\/span>ith the markets as volatile as they are right now,<\/span>\u00a0I think a lot of customers are just trying to work with us<\/span>\u00a0to figure out how to do that [modernize]<\/span>\u00a0in the most optimized and efficient way.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, however, companies must see the ongoing economic uncertainty as an opportunity to direct resources to things that\u2019ll keep them competitive when the fog clears, according to Tay.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think clients get it, they see it, and they feel it,\u201d he explained.<\/span>\u00a0\u201cThey understand the need to invest.<\/span>\u00a0And I think there was a study back in 2008 that\u00a0<\/span>those<\/span>\u00a0clients who didn\u2019t invest ahead of the major\u00a0<\/span>macroeconomic downturn times came out on the bad side.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
