Despite supply chains being critical and core to businesses, their optimality is hampered by the lack of visibility.<\/p>\n

AWS Supply Chain,\u00a0a cloud-based application that unifies data, provides machine learning-powered actionable insights, and offers built-in contextual collaboration, seeks to tackle this pain point through a data lake that acts as an abstraction layer, according to Dilip Kumar<\/a> (pictured), vice president of applications at Amazon Web Services Inc.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe use ML to be able to bring all of this disparate data in\u00a0and create our unified data lake,\u201d he said. \u201cOnce you have that unified data lake,\u00a0you can then run an insights layer on top of it\u00a0so that as the data changes,\u00a0supply chain is not a static thing.\u00a0Data\u2019s constantly changing.\u00a0As the data\u2019s changing, the data lake now reflects\u00a0the most up-to-date information.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kumar spoke with theCUBE industry analysts\u00a0Savannah Peterson<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Dave Vellante<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0AWS re:Invent<\/a>, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media\u2019s livestreaming studio. They discussed how AWS Supply Chain seeks to be a game-changer and the role played by AWS Clean Rooms.\u00a0(* Disclosure below.)<\/em><\/p>\n

AWS Clean Rooms enables collaborative insights<\/h3>\n

Since data sharing is usually hindered by fragmentation and governance issues, AWS Clean Rooms intends to tackle this challenge in a cost-friendly manner, according to Kumar. As a result, collaborative insights become possible without exposing any of the underlying data.<\/p>\n

\u201cAWS Clean Rooms is that service\u00a0that allows you very easily to be able to collaborate\u00a0with a group of folks\u00a0and then be able to gain these collaborative insights,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

By providing different services, the application group at AWS enhances productivity, according to Kumar, who said that AWS Clean Rooms and AWS Connect are part of the equation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe applications group is a combination of several services,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u201cWe have Communication Developer Services,\u00a0which is the ability to add simple email service, video or voice chat using a Chime SDK.\u00a0Higher up the stack,\u00a0we are taking care of things that IT administrators\u00a0have to deal with where you can provision an entire desktop\u00a0with the workspaces.\u00a0And then as you go up even higher up in the stack,\u00a0you have productivity applications like AWS Wickr.\u201d<\/p>\n
