During the onset of the pandemic, the cloud made enterprises resilient, and this scenario continues based on the need for ongoing business transformation.<\/p>\n

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. sees the cloud as a stepping stone toward enhanced business growth and value based on new models, according to Krishna Mohan Reddy<\/a> (pictured, left), vice president and global head of AWS business unit at\u00a0TCS.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, the cloud is actually more focused\u00a0on future-proofing the businesses,\u201d Reddy said. \u201cThe initial days\u00a0it was more about future-proofing the technology\u00a0and architecture.\u00a0But, it has evolved to future-proofing businesses.\u00a0That means implementing new business models,\u00a0bringing in agility, measuring the business value.\u00a0And, that\u2019s where we see a significant traction.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reddy and Sowmya Rajagopalan (pictured, right), vice president and head of Americas, travel transportation and hospitality at\u00a0TCS, spoke with theCUBE industry analysts\u00a0Savannah Peterson<\/a>\u00a0and Paul Gillin<\/a> at\u00a0AWS re:Invent<\/a>, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media\u2019s livestreaming studio. They discussed how TCS facilitates digital transformations in the enterprise world with the help of Amazon Web Services Inc.\u00a0(* Disclosure below.)<\/em><\/p>\n

Revamping legacy systems using the cloud<\/h3>\n

Modernization has become a key point in the post-pandemic era. Therefore, TCS helps enterprises with their digital transformation journeys. One example is its partnership with Avis Rent A Car System LLC, according to Rajagopalan.<\/p>\n

\u201cAvis Car Rental had monolith mainframe applications,\u201d she stated.\u00a0\u201cThere were many outages. That is where we all came in.\u00a0How do we, first of all,\u00a0simplify the complexity of the landscape? Then, second is, modernize the legacy application? Third is, how do you scale it?\u201d<\/p>\n

TCS partnered with AWS to bring in effective solutions, including mainframe modernization using AWS cloud. As a result,\u00a0Avis was able to save millions of dollars, according to\u00a0Rajagopalan.<\/p>\n

TCS sees AWS as an ideal partner when it comes to providing business value and growth. For instance, TCS was able to develop an intelligent solution for the airline sector, called TCS Aviana.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a 50-plus-year-old company \u2026 we are categorized as industry verticals, and we have horizontal services\u00a0where AWS is one of the horizontal services that we have,\u201d Rajagopalan said. \u201cWe brought in our airline contextual knowledge\u00a0and the United Airlines landscape\u00a0to bring in a TCS solution that we developed \u2026 an intelligent operations solution\u00a0for the airline industry.\u201d<\/p>\n
