As a multinational corporation delivering technology and business consulting services across 66 countries, Wipro Ltd.<\/a> is in an ideal position to see developing trends based on the needs of its clients.<\/p>\n

With the proliferation<\/a> of internet of things devices, enterprises are grappling with a set of connectivity and design challenges, with cloud positioned squarely at the center of most solutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny time you have an IoT device or connected device, you have four competing elements \u2013 form factor, power, connectivity, and intelligence,\u201d said Tim Currie<\/a> (pictured, left), Americas cloud leader at Wipro. \u201cYou have an engineering challenge that\u2019s based on a device, and then it\u2019s got to connect to the cloud. None of this happens or is possible without cloud.\u201d<\/p>\n

Currie spoke with theCUBE industry analysts Savannah Peterson<\/a> and Lisa Martin<\/a> at AWS re:Invent<\/a>, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media\u2019s livestreaming studio. He was joined by Kashmira Patel<\/a> (pictured, right), vice president and global head of AWS business group at Wipro, and they discussed how Wipro is adapting its strategic focus to meet the need for technology transformation. Ecosystem orchestrator<\/h3>\n

The cloud\u2019s influence on client needs has led Wipro to work extensively on migrations and modernizations, according to Patel. This is resulting in a strategic focus on vertical markets.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we\u2019re moving to now is this industry play,\u201d Patel said. \u201cWe\u2019ve spent a lot of time with our energy and utilities clients and the AWS practice in banking and financial services. We see ourselves as an ecosystem orchestrator.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the industries which has been an area of focus for Wipro has been the automotive space<\/a>. Cars are evolving into highly sophisticated computerized systems on wheels, a trend that may soon transform how automobiles are viewed in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou see this transition where instead of being a car that has a computer, the latest transition is to being more of a computer that operates like a car,\u201d Currie said. \u201cThis new vehicle that\u2019s going to emerge is going to be more like a cell phone. It traverses the world and, depending on where it is, different things might be available This vehicle is going to be something that we don\u2019t even think of as a car anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
