I always remember an uncle of mine, who my family only saw at Christmas. Every time we arrived, he\u2019d shake hands with my dad and ask, \u201ckeeping busy\u201d?<\/strong><\/p>\n

To the 9 year-old me it seemed like a proper grown-up question, as I knew I had never done anything just to keep myself busy. Life for me then was full of adventure, fun and laughter.<\/p>\n

I had a flashback to those childhood days earlier when I read a post by my friend Stuart Carter who wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople continue to ask me if I\u2019m busy, as if \u201cyes\u201d is the right answer.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s my full-time job to\u00a0not be busy. It allows me to be balanced, calm and on top form for the work I do with my clients.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

There is so much at our fingertips to stop us being busy, and help us to be relaxed, productive and useful:<\/p>\n

  • Online calendars, scheduling tools and planners<\/li>\n
  • Automation for emails, sales funnels and contact management<\/li>\n
  • Access to freelancers who can do what we don\u2019t need to<\/li>\n
  • Coaches and mentors to show us exactly how to be LESS busy<\/li>\n
  • Clients who\u2019ll work to our schedule, if only we ask them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Of course, the biggest unbusyness tool of all is simply this:<\/p>\n

    You deciding to only do what only you can do, always.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    If I were somehow reunited with my uncle this Christmas, and he asked me if I\u2019d been keeping busy, I\u2019d have to say, no, of course not. Why would I be?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
