NASA has taken a big step towards building its first moon base. You can\u2019t build a house without tools, and that\u2019s as true on the Moon as it is on Earth. To complicate matters further, like all of the other gear you use in space, Moon-based building supplies are quite complex.<\/p>\n

A Texas-based company has received a $57 million contract to design the equipment NASA will need to construct its initial lunar habitats. ICON, which has already pioneered advanced construction methods on Earth, has been trusted with designing the gear NASA needs to build a base on the Moon.<\/p>\n
