Nick Cannon is human after all. Former America\u2019s Got Talent host<\/a> told his listeners Tuesday that he was hospitalized with pneumonia last week after a long day of performing at Madison Square Garden in New York City<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t realize it was pneumonia,\u201d he explained during an appearance on the Breakfast Club radio show. \u201cMy family kept me going but I hit the hallway floor.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Nick Cannon was hospitalized for pneumonia, his family was worried about him.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the 37-year-old comedian<\/a>\u2018s wife Mariah Carey, and their twins, Monroe and Moroccan, visited him at a Los Angeles area hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe hit the hallway floor,\u201d Carey told People of her husband\u2019s scary experience. \u201cI don\u2019t know how much longer he would have lasted if we hadn\u2019t been there.\u201d The singer added that when she saw Nick in the hospital bed with an IV drip attached to his arm and monitors by his head, all she could think about is how quickly he had deteriorated since they\u2019d last seen each other on Tuesday night before his health took a turn for the worse overnight into Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

Nick Cannon thanked fans for their concern with a video message posted to Instagram on Thursday afternoon after spending two nights in intensive care receiving treatment for what doctors believe may have been bacterial pneumonia caused by streptococcus bacteria which can be spread through coughing or sneezing from person to person or contact with contaminated surfaces like door handles or air vents.<\/p>\n

You are human. You\u2019re not Superman. And if you want to keep your body healthy and in good shape, it\u2019s important to take care of yourself.<\/p>\n

The best way to do this is by getting regular checkups and making sure that you eat well and exercise regularly. This doesn\u2019t mean that you need to be perfect\u2014just try not to make unhealthy lifestyle choices or habits too often or for too long at a time. This can cause serious problems like pneumonia, which was what happened with Nick Cannon after his Madison Square Garden show (and subsequent hospitalization).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
