The IRS did give these people some extra time to file their taxes, though. In order to make it easier for people to file their returns, the organization has created the IRS Free File form. The IRS Free File, however, is no longer accessible. The target audience for this program was persons with low incomes who aren\u2019t often required to file taxes.<\/span><\/p>\n

When filing their taxes in 2023, people who missed the November 17 deadline to apply for stimulus funds or child tax credits may still do so. The fact that people can submit claims for the child tax credit and the unclaimed<\/a> stimulus payment by Tax Day in 2025 should be emphasized. However, it is encouraged that they file their return as soon as is practical. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress has approved three rounds of stimulus cheques. Early in 2020, a $1,200 stimulus check was approved; in December 2020, a $600 stimulus check was given; and in March 2021, a $1,400 stimulus check was approved.<\/span><\/p>\n

The expanded child credit was also authorized by the federal government in 2021. The Child Tax Credit was increased by the American Rescue Plan, which was adopted in 2021, from $2,000 to $3,600 for children under the age of six and $3,000 for children under the age of 18.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
