{"id":19665,"date":"2022-11-29T18:34:15","date_gmt":"2022-11-29T18:34:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mailinvest.blog\/index.php\/2022\/11\/29\/over-half-of-marketers-are-using-the-metaverse-or-considering-it\/"},"modified":"2022-11-29T18:34:15","modified_gmt":"2022-11-29T18:34:15","slug":"over-half-of-marketers-are-using-the-metaverse-or-considering-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mailinvest.blog\/index.php\/2022\/11\/29\/over-half-of-marketers-are-using-the-metaverse-or-considering-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Over half of marketers are using the metaverse or considering it"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/go.fiverr.com\/visit\/?bta=1052423&nci=17043\" Target=\"_Top\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/mailinvest.blog\/wp-content\/themes\/breek\/assets\/images\/transparent.gif\" data-lazy=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/fiverr.ck-cdn.com\/tn\/serve\/?cid=40081059\"  width=\"601\" height=\"201\"><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p>Fifty-six percent of media buyers at brands and agencies are investing in metaverse advertising and marketing initiatives or considering it, the IAB reported <a href=\"https:\/\/martech.org\/ad-spend-projected-to-grow-5-9-in-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in their recent 2023 outlook survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When asked this fall, 20% of respondents said they were currently invested in metaverse experiences, while another 36% said they were considering it.<\/p>\n<p>The metaverse was defined in the survey of 223 marketers as \u201cvirtual, internet-based experiences that bridge offline and online worlds, where people can customer avatars, play games, shop, interact and virtually attend live events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Metaverse goals.<\/strong> Those surveyed said they were investing in a metaverse presence to boost brand awareness and perception, and to reach customers where they are.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the top reasons why marketers are making this investment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build brand awareness\/recognition (52%).<\/li>\n<li>New way of engaging existing customers (48%).<\/li>\n<li>Boost brand perception (46%).<\/li>\n<li>Reach audiences not found\/hard to find elsewhere (42%).<\/li>\n<li>Provides an additional ecommerce channel (34%).<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s a good fit for our audience (28%)<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s a good fit for our brand (27%).<\/li>\n<li>Drive customer loyalty (21%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Too nascent. <\/strong>This leaves 44% of those surveyed who weren\u2019t yet investing in the metaverse, primarily because these spaces are too nascent or not the right fit.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the top reasons why marketers aren\u2019t currently investing in the metaverse:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Metaverse advertising is too nascent (41%).<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s not a good fit for our audience (37%).<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s not a good fit for our brand (35%).<\/li>\n<li>We don\u2019t have room in our budget (35%).<\/li>\n<li>We have yet to develop a metaverse advertising strategy (34%).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deliver ROI\/business objectives is unclear (32%).<\/li>\n<li>Lack of industry standards (20%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why we care.<\/strong> The MarTech flash survey <a href=\"https:\/\/martech.org\/why-we-care-about-metaverse-activations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">taken last spring<\/a> found that a quarter of marketers were planning a metaverse activation within a year, which seems to be confirmed by what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iab.com\/insights\/2023-outlook-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this IAB report finds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Those marketers who have the metaverse in their sites are sticking with their plan. For those on the fence, they might be nudged by <a href=\"https:\/\/martech.org\/web3-content-and-capabilities-from-an-agencys-perspective\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a number of agencies<\/a> who\u2019ve launched committed metaverse services this year, and by <a href=\"https:\/\/martech.org\/polyientx-launches-self-service-nft-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">self-service capabilities for NFTs<\/a> that are now available.<\/p>\n<p>How many of the \u201cno, nevers\u201d will shift to \u201cmaybes\u201d?
