Adweek has expanded the categories this year, adding Midsize U.S., Small U.S. and Multicultural to the existing program of U.S., Global, International and Breakthrough.<\/p>\n<p>For the International category, agencies located outside the U.S. are eligible, including individual offices of larger agency networks.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How we got here<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Adweek invited any agency to enter (without an entry fee) by providing information about its past year and best work. A team of Adweek editors and reporters combed through the entries and created shortlists based on which agencies had the greatest potential to stand out in the final round.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row justify-content-center\">\n<div class=\"col-12\">\n<section class=\"section section--teaser section--teaser_partners section--teaser_partners--horizontal px-0 py-4\">\n<div class=\"section--teaser_partner\"><a class=\"link-reset text-decoration-none\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/agencies\/adweeks-2022-breakthrough-agency-of-the-year-shortlist\/\">            <picture class=\"image image--partner\"><source srcset=\"https:\/\/static-prod.adweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/breakthrough-aoy-2022-640x360.jpg.webp\" type=\"image\/webp\"><source srcset=\"https:\/\/static-prod.adweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/breakthrough-aoy-2022-640x360.jpg\" type=\"image\/jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/static-prod.adweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/breakthrough-aoy-2022-640x360.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"image\" alt=\"image\" title=\"\"\/>             <\/source><\/source><\/picture><\/a><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>In the final round, agencies submitted a more comprehensive questionnaire that provided information on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/agencies\/whats-the-new-normal-for-new-business-pitches\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1326867\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">client wins<\/a>, revenue growth, work, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/webinars\/dei-and-representation-in-health-marketing\/\" data-type=\"webinar\" data-id=\"1364302\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DEI<\/a>, sustainability, talent retention and more.<\/p>\n<p>A jury of Adweek editors and reporters deliberated over shortlisted agencies until they were ready for a vote to pick a winner in the category.<\/p>\n<p>On Dec. 12, Adweek will reveal the winners of each category. Below, in alphabetical order, are the shortlisted agencies eligible to win International Agency of the Year.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>The shortlisted agencies<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>FCB India<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three things we liked:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FCB India bought Kinnect, India\u2019s largest independent marketing agency, to boost its digital offerings.<\/li>\n<li>The agency has heavily invested in producing work to push critical social causes in India. <\/li>\n<li>FCB India\u2019s work with The Times of India to encourage more women to run for office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Le Pub<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three things we liked:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Won nine new accounts globally, including Tissot, and did not lose any clients.<\/li>\n<li>The agency is producing work for global clients in markets like Brazil, Mexico and Singapore.<\/li>\n<li>Le Pub has consistently produced excellent work for Barilla and Heineken.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>McCann Paris<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three things we liked:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It added global scopes of work with Prada Fragrance and Moncler. <\/li>\n<li>McCann Paris implemented a salary increase for all women returning from maternity leave, as well as extended leave for both mothers and fathers.<\/li>\n<li>The agency\u2019s strong work for L\u2019Or\u00e9al.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Publicis Conseil<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three things we liked:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The agency created internal creative training to help employees propose, identify and defend creative ideas.<\/li>\n<li>Won a number of accounts, including Accor Group, without losing any.<\/li>\n<li>This sustainability work for Renault to help push electric vehicles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Rethink<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three things we liked:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Projected revenue is up 32% with a number of wins like Destination Canada, H\u00e4agen-Dazs and Kit Kat.<\/li>\n<li>A 94% retention rate and the introduction of \u201cIndependent\u2019s Week,\u201d where the agency shuts its doors mid-summer for a week.<\/li>\n<li>A variety of work for Heinz, including vintage clothing with drip stains and AI art.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Serviceplan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three things we liked:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serviceplan hired new top-level talent, including Till Diestel\u00a0as CCO Serviceplan Germany, Kieve Duchamp\u00a0as CEO Serviceplan Mak<strong>e<\/strong>\u00a0(the agency\u2019s production company) and Stefanie Kuhnhen as\u00a0CSO Serviceplan Germany.<\/li>\n<li>The agency helps client neutralize carbon emissions through its Green GRP tool.<\/li>\n<li>The agency\u2019s work for Penny, including its Christmas ad \u201cThe Wish.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Special New Zealand<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three things we liked:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The agency won at least one new piece of business every single month in 2022 and retained 100% of its clients.<\/li>\n<li>Ranked No. 1 on the Effie Index for most effective independent agencies.<\/li>\n<li>This Christmas spot called \u201cYuleglide\u201d for Optus.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<iframe data-lazy=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.fiverr.com\/gig_widgets?id=U2FsdGVkX18x7XQvttUTrv1oEqmGNGTgvvCUiUoJ\/AP4z\/UyMz8lXGOLpu15jIMxBbTR0gmD5uBoFvhC4KWeALQRp3h\/X\/AwcVD0K8Wj9H\/ZzYKzcCNHosB9oS4SCJJFWiN85P9ICAc4OgCoE\/wHKIY7CDkf2\/DQ1vqGvk4smVe5cRDEmrLPCWi4FC8p40VUhSmWQ5udCm0zoJtorgWv3vbDQw0kKYkwn39ozAnQXDe+YvWMxkLFWA+O3TFwkJvdkIK+\/AUSnRssPKt5WHY0FhNOxnSPcLslEL4G4\/RfP95ve99U+kRnDy3X+KtzdQLY+u935ghON\/o3UE4IMv9oN6JX9RnxzL\/LRcOgnHigxStSGPKsZYtnz8RWNVT\/rOLAibqiWJadC5MYHRbekF3eg6FOGrQGkXYbsn0+a5aovnlLCbLwIqY9fcS17UX8J235iQ6cdmHNbrPeS84CMm34RA==&affiliate_id=1052423&strip_google_tagmanager=true\" loading=\"lazy\" data-with-title=\"true\" class=\"fiverr_nga_frame\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"350\" width=\"100%\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-mode=\"random_gigs\" onload=\" var frame = this;
