As minister, Champagne says he\u2019s committed to competition and cellphone affordability.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-ottawa-advised-to-deny-rogerss-takeover-of-shaw-unless-wireless-unit\/\" data-lasso-id=\"270058\"><em> Globe and Mail<\/em><\/a> reported the industry and technology committee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-ottawa-advised-to-deny-rogerss-takeover-of-shaw-unless-wireless-unit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"270053\">tabled a report<\/a> asking Champagne to reject the merger if Rogers doesn\u2019t agree to sell wireless licenses owned by Shaw, including Freedom Mobile. The committee last met Tuesday in an in-camera meeting.
