March is Women\u2019s History Month! So let\u2019s celebrate all the hard working, passionate, caring, women in our lives. These women are selfless and strong and sometimes may be covering up Imposter Syndrome.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Imposter Syndrome is a HUGE topic in the business world because it is incredibly prominent. Imposter syndrome is loosely defined as doubting your abilities and feeling like a fraud. It disproportionately affects high-achieving people, who find it difficult to accept their accomplishments. Many question whether they\u2019re deserving of accolades.<\/p>\n

According to a Forbes study, \u201c75% of women surveyed in a recent KPMG study are experiencing impostor syndrome.\u201d For many years us women have been conditioned that these higher up positions are for men, allowing us to subconsciously feel inadequate in our roles.\u00a0 When we look at environments where there are gender imbalances or people who feel they are in the minority, feelings of imposter syndrome are bound to be more prevalent.<\/p>\n

So, for the month of March I encourage you to train yourself to step out of imposter syndrome and recognize your strength and talents! When you are feeling a sense of doubt, take a step back and ask yourself, \u201cWhy?\u201d Is it because you made a mistake? Those are allowed! Is it because you were entirely sure how to manage your team this week? You\u2019re not Superwoman! You can\u2019t always hit the nail on the head. Once you ask yourself why something happened you will begin to feel better.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Some other tips and tricks I have are to keep a compliment folder. If you receive an email, a text, an award\u2026 screenshot it and put it in that folder! When you are doubting yourself go back into this folder and read all about your accomplishments. You are capable of such amazing things.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Affirmations is a word that is floating ALL over the internet these days, but they really do open the doors for success. I suggest writing encouraging sayings to yourself and placing them in rooms you know you will read them. The mirror, the front door, your nightstand, your desk are all great places where you can read these little words of encouragement!\u00a0<\/p>\n

You are capable of such incredible things. So stop doubting yourself, and if you begin to doubt yourself because of other\u2019s words or actions just always remember\u2026 YOU DO YOU!<\/p>\n
